Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI) is a not for profit organisation set up in 2001 to carry out independent research into all areas of Corporate Governance on behalf of its (mainly) superannuation members (who represent $170 billion assets under management).
Activities undertaken by ACSI include:
-
Proxy Advisory Service
-
Engagement Service
-
Independent research (primarily on corporate governance practices of ASX200 companies)
-
Participation in policy debate
-
Advocacy of higher governance standards
-
Co-operation with the International Corporate Governance Network.
As a member of ACSI's steering committee, this:
-
Allows ESSSuper a seat at the table with significant and high profile players in the superannuation landscape and allows the Fund to tap into a significant network on other issues, not just governance.
-
Gives the Fund the ability to drive the direction of research.
