Defined benefit fund insurance

Your defined benefit fund has insurance built in. If you would like extra insurance, you might want to consider an Accumulation Plan.

If you’re fortunate enough to belong to one of ESSSuper's defined benefit funds (i.e. the ESSS DB Fund or the New, Revised, SERB or Transport Scheme), then the hassle of choosing insurance units is taken care of for you.

How is your insurance calculated?

Death and disability cover is calculated based on your salary, length of service and personal contribution rate.  The amount of your Death & Disablement benefits are shown on your Annual Benefit Statement each year.
