Fund Types

Transport Scheme

For eligible transport employees who joined the scheme between 1 July 1988 and 31 December 1993.

Defined benefit fund

If you’re a member of the Transport Scheme you are in a defined benefit fund.  This means that your benefit entitlements are based on your salary, length of service and personal contribution rate.

Claiming your benefit

The event and date that triggers your benefit becoming payable (e.g. resignation, retrenchment or retirement) determines your gross benefit.  The Transport Scheme pays a lump sum entitlement on retirement, however with our Retirement Income Stream, members can receive a regular  income payment from their super.
