Crediting rates explained

The investment information on our website (notably crediting rates) is updated regularly to keep you informed. Here’s how and when we go about it.
Super is an ever changing and always evolving arena, and so are the markets we invest in.
Final/Declared rates
Accumulation Plan, Beneficiary Account and Income Streams
Rates are declared by close of business on the 5th working day of each month (excluding Public Holidays). We endeavour to update the rates first thing on the 6th working day.
State super defined benefit members
Rates are declared at the end of each financial year. Crediting rates only impact your entitlements if you’re entitled to a resignation or retrenchment benefit resulting in a refund of your personal contributions plus interest. Please note that the crediting rate can never be less than zero and is a smoothed rate over a 3 year period.
ESSS Defined Benefit Fund members
Crediting rates do not impact your benefit entitlements.
Accumulation Plan, Beneficiary Account and Income Streams
Given that rates are closely monitored by some of our members we provide interim crediting rate updates weekly on our website – the rates are usually updated on Mondays. However, at the end of the month we won’t supply an interim crediting rate when we are working on determining a declared rate.
State super defined benefit fund members
Interim crediting rates are updated on the 15th working day of each month. Again, the interim crediting rate can never be less than zero.
ESSS Defined Benefit Fund members
Crediting rates do not impact your benefit entitlements.
