Lost Super

Any super you’ve earned, is super you’re owed. So don’t let it sit idle in a lost account. Find it, and make it work harder for you.

Do have more than one super fund?

Sometimes it's hard to keep track of your super if you have:

  • more than one super fund,
  • changed jobs, or
  • changed your personal details and forgotten to tell your super fund.

What is lost super?

Once your super fund receives two pieces of unclaimed or returned mail, you may be regarded as a ‘lost member’ and no further correspondence will be sent to you. Therefore, it's possible that you have more super money than you realise.

Find lost super

You can find lost super easily, and free of charge, by:

  • visiting the ATO website at SuperSeeker, or
  • calling the ATO on 13 10 20.

You will need your tax file number in order to conduct the search.

Consolidate your super

If you’re lucky enough to find some super elsewhere then it may be getting eaten up by fees.  You can consolidate your super with ESSSuper by setting up, or rolling your money into, an Accumulation Plan account.  Our fees are very low and transparent; you can add extra contributions or lump sums at any time.
