Voluntary Departure Package

Voluntary Departure Package (VDP) means different things to different people. Some people might be excited at the prospect of finishing work, whilst others feel quite overwhelmed and daunted at the task of preparing themselves for future endeavours.
If VDP’s are being offered at your workplace it is important that you understand your superannuation options when considering if a VDP is right for you.
If you are an ESSSuper defined benefit member (New, Revised, SERB or Transport Scheme), the rules of your fund and the options available to you are very different to those of other funds. To make sure you are getting the right information you should speak to the people who run your fund – after all, that’s what we’re here for.
We've also recorded an online version of our seminar for state super members. If you are thinking about taking a VDP, the following seminar will provide you with general information about your super.
In addition New Scheme & Revised Scheme members can find more information in the following brochures.
Our team of Member Education Consultants are experts in your fund and can provide simple answers to even the hardest of super questions.
