I'm a non-government employer

If you are a non participating employer (i.e. not an emergency services or Government employer) submitting "Choice of Fund" Superannuation Guarantee and or member contributions on behalf of ESSSuper members, you currently have the ability to do so via BPAY and EFT however legislative change may dictate which payment method can be utilised.

Contributing Via SuperStream

Important: SuperStream

Please note, manual remittances accompanied with EFT payments are being phased out by legislation. The timeline below advises when this payment method will no longer comply with obligations under the new legislation:

  • 20 employees or more: Pay via SuperStream since 1 July 2015
  • Between 5 and 19 employees: Pay via SuperStream since 1 July 2016
  • Less than 5 employees: Date yet to be confirmed

If you wish to make contributions via SuperStream, the Unique Superannuation Identifier (USI) for ESSSuper is ESS0003AU.

Please ensure that employees have an account with ESSSuper prior to submitting contributions on their behalf as if the member is not eligible to join the fund, contributions will be returned.

For employers with less than 5 employees, the payment method below ensures compliance with SuperStream legislative reform - without the need of engaging a clearing house service.
